Restoration is not a luxury.
It is a skill.
In a culture that celebrates constant output, most yoga trainings teach poses, anatomy, and sequencing.
The Art of Softening teaches something deeper: how to create safety, hold space, and facilitate the kind of stillness that changes people.
FROM CHRONIC HOLDING
- Physical tension & guarding
- Emotional striving & over-functioning
- Teaching from knowledge alone
- Performing presence
- Craving rest but unable to access it
- Disconnected from your own body
TO SAFE SOFTENING
- Trust & embodied regulation
- Presence over performance
- Leading from felt sense
- Genuine connection
- Rest as a practice you can teach
- A body you feel at home in
Most yin trainings teach poses.
This one teaches presence.
MOST YIN TRAININGS TEACH
Poses and alignment
Anatomy and meridians
Sequencing formulas
How to fill 90 minutes
Theory you deliver from the front of the room
THE ART OF SOFTENING TEACHES
How to create genuine safety
How to pace for nervous system regulation
How to use touch skillfully and ethically
How to recognize and meet dysregulation
How to hold transformational space
Made for the practitioners who hold space for others.
- Yoga teachers seeking CEUs
You want to go deeper than your 200-hour training took you… into the felt sense of what makes a class truly transformational.
- Wellness practitioners
Coaches, therapists, and bodyworkers who want nervous system literacy, somatic tools, and embodied facilitation skills they can use immediately.
- Retreat leaders & space holders
You're already creating experiences for others. This gives you the theory, the touch skills, and the presence to hold deeper containers.
- Women longing to reconnect
Depleted despite being successful. Constantly on. Craving rest but unsure how to access it. This retreat is permission to soften, starting with yourself.

“Delaney’s Yin classes were powerful, accessible, and deeply supportive. Her teaching made the material easy to connect with, and I learned so much throughout the course. I now feel more confident creating a personal practice rooted in intuition, balance, and self-trust. Delaney shares her wisdom in a way that feels genuine, grounding, and truly meaningful.”

“Delaney is an incredible instructor and mentor. Her patience, flexibility, resources, and thoughtful guidance created such a supportive learning experience. During a personally challenging time, this training and the class discussions became a bright light in my life. I am deeply grateful for the wisdom, care, and encouragement Delaney shared with us.”

“This training was such a transformative experience. Delaney created a space that felt welcoming, thoughtful, and supportive from beginning to end. Her guidance helped me deepen my understanding of Yin while also reconnecting with my own inner wisdom. I left feeling inspired, grounded, and grateful for the opportunity to learn from her.”
Everything you need to know.
Do I need to be a yoga teacher to attend?
Not at all. While yoga teachers will receive Yoga Alliance CEU credits, this training is designed for any wellness practitioner, coach, therapist, bodyworker, or retreat leader who wants to deepen their ability to facilitate restoration and embodied presence. If you hold space for others in any capacity, this training is relevant to your work.
What experience level do I need in yin yoga?
A personal yin practice is helpful but not required. The virtual modules (Modules 1–3) lay the foundational theory before you arrive, so you'll be well-prepared regardless of your starting point. What matters most is an openness to embodied learning and a willingness to receive as well as to give.
What is included in the price?
Your investment covers the full 40-hour training, six nights accommodation at Haramara Retreat, all meals during the in-person week, round-trip airport shuttle from Puerto Vallarta, your printed training manual, and your Yoga Alliance CEU certificate. The only thing not included is your flight to Puerto Vallarta (PVR).
Are payment plans available?
Yes. A non-refundable $1000 deposit secures your place, and the remaining balance can be paid in installments leading up to the retreat. Payment plan details are shared upon registration. All payments must be received by the stated due dates in order to maintain your reserved space. Payment plans are a commitment to the full retreat investment. Failure to complete scheduled payments does not constitute cancelation and does not release the participant from the remaining balance owed. We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise and encourage participants to communicate as soon as possible if challenges occur. We will make reasonable efforts to support participants while honoring our commitments to the retreat venue and vendors.
How much experience with Thai bodywork is required?
None. Module 2 covers the history, ethics, and foundations of therapeutic touch from the ground up. The partner labs in Module 5 are structured so that everyone, regardless of bodywork background, can practice safely, receive feedback, and build confidence. The focus is on consent, co-regulation, and skillful presence, not on advanced technique.
How many people will be in the group?
The retreat is intentionally limited to 12 participants. This is a deeply relational training, and the size of the group directly affects the quality of the touch work, the depth of the learning, and the safety of the container. When the retreat is full, it is full.
Is this appropriate if I have trauma in my history?
This training is built on trauma-aware facilitation principles, and great care is taken to create a genuinely safe container. Touch work is always consent-based. That said, this is a professional training, not a therapeutic program. If you have active trauma that is not yet stabilized, we recommend speaking with your own therapist before registering and reaching out to discuss whether this is the right fit for you at this time.
What is the cancelation policy?
A $1000 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your space. This deposit secures your accommodation, training materials, and place within this intimate immersion. If you are unable to attend the retreat, your deposit may be transferred as a credit toward a future offering (subject to availability). The credit must be used within 12 months of the original retreat dates. Remaining retreat payments are non-refundable and non-transferable after payment deadlines due to contractual commitments with the retreat venue and vendors. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment in the event of unforeseen circumstances. If the retreat must be canceled by the host due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund of payments made toward the retreat (excluding any personal travel expenses).
What do I need to bring on the retreat?
A detailed packing list will be sent out prior to the retreat, but really all you need to bring are clothes and toiletries. All yoga mats and props, towels, and linens will be provided by Haramara.
